Introduction:

Cancer is one of the world's leading health problems and in most cases people with the disease have to receive a variety of treatments, including chemotherapy, which strongly affects globality of her life, specifically when she is a woman, requiring nursing care with a humanistic approach.

Objective:

Describe and analyze the perception of nursing care for patients receiving chemotherapy treatment at a Level III Hospital. Chiclayo. 2019.

Material and methods:

Qualitative study, with case study design. The sample was made up of 14 female patients. The processed semi-structured interview was used using content analysis. The criteria of scientific rigor and the principles of personalistic bioethics were considered.

Results:

Valuing human practices during chemotherapy; Directing the physical and mental state towards God to make sense of the disease.

Conclusion:

Patients who participated in this study perceived that during care, nurses' value human practices by demonstrating interest, affection and knowledge, generating safety and tranquility for their patients during chemotherapy.
