Abstract

GARCIA HERNANDEZ, Alfonso Miguel. Pain and memory. Ene. [online]. 2021, vol.15, n.2, 1277.  Epub Jan 31, 2022. ISSN 1988-348X.

We live in a fragile world that has an unequal understanding of the need to combat pain. This world makes us forget that pain is socially transmitted. Capitalist society and many others, lack a narrative of life and make us live in the unconsciousness that the increase of capital takes us away and makes us escape from pain and death as if it could increment our capacity to survive. And although the pandemic has shocked capitalism, it does not provide any counter-narrative. Pain is now physical, bodily, and has left behind its narrative and its construction of symbolic order.

Keywords : pain; memory; narrative.
