Introduction:

This paper do an adaptation of design thinking methodology to teach innovation to Kinesiology students.

Subjects and methods:

It use a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test, and two treatment groups evaluated with a questionnaire that measures capacity in innovation skills perception.

Results:

Shows statistically significant differences between the groups with an increase in the post-test.

Conclusions:

The strategy shows an important effect in the project quality, the domain perception and the perceived capacity to innovate.
