Objective:

To determine the risk according to occupation and other associated factors for post-traumatic stress (PTSD) during the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru.

Material and Methods:

Retrospective cohort study, in 953 respondents from a dozen occupations. They measured EPT and severe EPT (which had the component of suicidal ideation.

Results:

There was a lower risk of severe EPT among those who ate, transported and worked for the state; all men (both p<0.04 values; for EPT and severe EPT), those who had a family member who became ill from COVID-19 and those who had higher anxiety scores had a lower risk, while higher stress and depression scores and those who had a family member who died from COVID-19 had a higher risk of severe EPT.

Conclusion:

Multiple factors were found to increase and others to decrease risk.
