Introduction:

In October 2023, Madrid Regional Health Department published the “crisis code” to optimize emergency care for epileptic seizures.

Objetives: to describe 8 epiléptico seizures attended outside the Medical Service of a multinacional Bank in Madrid, between 2018 and 2023.

Materials and Methods:

observational descriptivo case series Study of emergencias classified as “epileptic seizures” according to the “Guía de consenso sobre la dotación de los servicios de Medicina del Trabajo”, compared with other emergencias in the same environment and hospital settings.

Results:

the two medical centers of the Bank Cover approximately 16.000 employees. From 2017 to 2023, 8 emergency responses for epileptic seizures were recorded. In 2023, there were 69 emergencies, with the only one being classified as a seizure.

Conclusions:

the incidente and prevalente of epileptic seizures is lower in the estudiad Community compared to the Spanish population. None of the 8 seizures were considered work-related accidents. However, Ocupacional Medicine especialistas must be trained and updated in the inicial emergency care and proper referral of such cases.
