FONSECA-MUNOZ, Mauricio; CONTRERAS ESTRADA, Mónica Isabel; MERCADO RAMIREZ, Miguel Alfonso e PANDO MORENO, Manuel. Validation of a Work Quality of Life Instrument among physicians in Colombia. Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab [online]. 2025, vol.34, n.1, pp.47-60. Epub 12-Maio-2025. ISSN 3020-1160.
Objective:
To conduct an exploratory validation of the short version of the CVT-Gohisalo questionnaire among physicians in a high-complexity clinic in Cali, Colombia, to assess its reliability and relevance in this specific context, without aiming to establish causal relationships or comparisons between groups.
Design:
Descriptive study with exploratory factor analysis of the CVT-Gohisalo questionnaire applied to physicians in a specialized clinical setting.
Material and Methods:
The sample included 570 physicians. Exploratory factor analysis, Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO=0.9) adequacy tests, and Bartlett’s sphericity test (p<0.001) were conducted. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, and the explained variance for each factor was analyzed.
Results:
The global Cronbach’s alpha was 0.924, with favorable results across the seven dimensions analyzed. The explained variance reached 74.2% in the institutional support dimension and 71.3% in occupational safety. Eigenvalues ranged from 0.426 to 0.809, demonstrating the robustness of the instrument.
Conclusions:
The short version of the CVT-Gohisalo questionnaire proved to be a valid and reliable tool for assessing work-life quality among physicians in high-complexity clinics. Its implementation can significantly contribute to diagnosing and improving workplace conditions, fostering a healthier and more productive environment.
