La nariz es una estructura compleja desde el punto de vista estético o funcional y las técnicas quirúrgicas actuales tienden a mantener todas las estructuras para prevenir estigmas quirúrgicos a corto o largo plazo. Cada vez más se realizan descripciones anatómicas de gran precisión y aumenta la importancia de las estructuras blandas que soportan la pirámide nasal. Los ligamentos, como estructuras de tejido conectivo, cumplen un papel fundamental no solo en el posicionamiento anatómico, sino en su funcionalidad. El presente trabajo tiene por objeto evaluar la anatomía quirúrgica de los ligamentos nasales y su utilidad para la cirugía de preservación nasal.  Material y método. Estudiamos la anatomía de los ligamentos nasales en una muestra de 40 pacientes sometidos a rinoplastia abierta primaria y 20 pacientes con rinoplastia cerrada primaria, a fin de identificar y analizar los ligamentos encontrados y comparar las descripciones anatómicas con los hallazgos intraoperatorios en rinoplastias cerradas y abiertas.  Resultados. Los ligamentos nasales analizados fueron: interdomal, intercrural, piriforme, área de deslizamiento intercartilaginosa, zona de incisura nasalis, ligamento de Pitanguy, ligamento de la base de la columela y ligamento sesamoideo.  Conclusiones. En los trabajos de anatomía moderna sobre ligamentos nasales, no todos los autores coinciden con las descripciones cadavéricas. Nuestro trabajo combina estas descripciones con hallazgos intraoperatorios tanto en rinoplastias cerradas como abiertas.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Background and objective. The nose is a complex structure from aesthetic and functional point of view, and current surgical techniques tend to maintain all structures to prevent surgical stigmata in the short or long term. Anatomical descriptions are increasingly with great precision and the importance of the soft structures that support the nasal pyramid increases too. Ligaments, as connective tissue structures, play a fundamental role not only in anatomical positioning, but also in their functionality. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the surgical anatomy of the nasal ligaments and their usefulness for nasal preservation surgery.  Methods. We studied the anatomy of the nasal ligaments in 40 patients who received primary open rhinoplasty and 20 patients with primary closed rhinoplasty, in order to identify and analyze the ligaments found, and compare the anatomical descriptions with the intraoperative findings in closed and open rhinoplasties.  Results. The nasal ligaments analyzed were: interdomal, intercrural, piriformis, intercartilaginous sliding area, incisura nasalis zone, Pitanguy ligament, ligament of the base of the columella and sesamoid ligament.  Conclusions. In modern anatomy publications on nasal ligaments, not all authors agree with cadaveric descriptions. Our contribution lies in combining these descriptions with intraoperative findings in both closed and open rhinoplasties.]]></p></abstract>
