El dominio de la microcirugía requiere el desarrollo de habilidades motoras, una curva de aprendizaje, y se mantiene con la práctica constante, por lo que es importante un entrenamiento continuo en anastomosis microquirúrgicas tanto para residentes quirúrgicos en formación como para cirujanos experimentados. Las desventajas del microscopio quirúrgico, como su costo elevado, el ser un equipo pesado y difícil de movilizar, así como el que el lugar donde se suele encontrar es el quirófano, escuelas y laboratorios de cirugía experimental, restringen su accesibilidad y dificultan el entrenamiento microquirúrgico. La búsqueda de un sustituto portátil, accesible y fácil de usar es esencial para facilitar la formación y proporcionar un medio de perfeccionamiento y preservación de habilidades microquirúrgicas. El objetivo de este estudio es proponer el uso del microscopio digital como una alternativa al microscopio quirúrgico para el entrenamiento microquirúrgico.  Material y método. Empleamos un microscopio digital conectado a un teléfono inteligente, un soporte, una base de fibracel e instrumentos microquirúrgicos básicos y practicamos anastomosis vasculares en 14 alas de pollo.  Resultados. El microscopio digital nos permitió realizar anastomosis en vasos menores de 1 mm así como injertos de vena utilizando como material de sutura nylon monofilamento 10-0 y 11-0.  Conclusiones. En nuestra práctica experimental, el microscopio digital como sustituto del microscopio quirúrgico permitió gran magnificación, a la vez que es accesible, económico y portátil, lo que facilita su uso sencillo para disminuir la curva de aprendizaje por medio de una práctica continua de microcirugía. <abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Background and objective. Mastering microsurgery requires the development of motor skills, a learning curve, and is maintained with constant practice; therefore, ongoing training in microsurgical anastomosis is important for both surgical residents in training and experienced surgeons. The disadvantages of the surgical microscope are its high cost, a heavy equipment that is difficult to move, and the places where it is found are usually operating rooms, schools, and experimental surgery laboratories, which restricts its accessibility and makes microsurgical training difficult. So the search for a portable, accessible and easy-to-use substitute is essential to facilitate training and provide a means of perfection and preservation of microsurgical skills. The objective of this study is to propose the use of the digital microscope as an alternative to the surgical microscope for microsurgical training.  Methods. A digital microscope connected to a smartphone, a stand, a fibercell base, and basic microsurgical instruments were used to perform vascular anastomoses in 14 chicken wings.  Results. The digital microscope allowed us to perform anastomosis in vessels smaller than 1 mm and vein graft using 10-0 and 11-0 monofilament nylon as suture material.  Conclusions.
