Após um programa prévio de treino resistivo, os sujeitos (n=15) foram aleatoriamente subdivididos num grupo de treino reduzido (GTR=8) e num grupo de destreino específico (GDE=7). Ao longo de 16 semanas o GTR, paralelamente aos treinos de basquetebol, manteve uma sessão semanal de treino resistivo, enquanto o GDE apenas manteve a prática regular da modalidade. Todos os sujeitos foram avaliados no salto sem contramovimento (SsCM), salto com contramovimento (com-SCMb e sem balanço de braços-SCM), e salto em profundidade (SP), no início (T1), e no final das semanas 4 (T4), 8 (T8), 12 (T12), e 16 (T16) dos períodos de treino reduzido e destreino específico. The more significant results highlight: a) stability in subjects of both groups; b) similarities on the comparison of specific detraining and reduced training outcomes.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Key words:</b> Reduced training, specific detraining, basketball.</font></p> <hr size="1">     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Introdu&ccedil;&atilde;o</b></font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">O conhecimento integrado das características do destreino tem permitido a elabora&ccedil;&atilde;o de programas de treino mais ajustados com consequ&ecirc;ncias muito positivas no desempenho desportivo e na manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da for&ccedil;a e da pot&ecirc;ncia ao longo de períodos de interrup&ccedil;&atilde;o e redu&ccedil;&atilde;o do treino (Fry, H&auml;kkinen &amp; Kraemer, 2004). Ao associarem-lhe o princípio da reversibilidade, diversos autores afirmam que, da mesma forma que o treino melhora a performance, a inatividade (destreino) provoca um decréscimo no desempenho atlético dos sujeitos devido a uma capacidade fisiológica diminuída (Faigenbaum et al., 1996; Fleck &amp; Kraemer, 1997; Fry, H&auml;kkinen &amp; Kraemer, 2004; Hoffman, 2002). No entanto, a convic&ccedil;&atilde;o de Mujika e Padilla (2000) aponta no sentido da produ&ccedil;&atilde;o de for&ccedil;a decrescer lentamente, permanecendo, em geral, acima dos valores de controlo durante períodos muito longos.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">De todo o modo, os efeitos do destreino n&atilde;o se manifestam sempre que os treinadores optam pela introdu&ccedil;&atilde;o de programas de manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da for&ccedil;a no planeamento anual de treino (Kraemer, 2000). Segundo Brittenham (1997), é possível manter os níveis de for&ccedil;a apenas com uma sess&atilde;o de treino semanal de alta intensidade. Mais ainda, a continua&ccedil;&atilde;o do treino de for&ccedil;a durante o período competitivo trará n&atilde;o só benefícios a nível fisiológico (for&ccedil;a corporal) mas também no domínio psicológico que segundo Pauletto (1987) se expressa por uma "sensa&ccedil;&atilde;o positiva" (os atletas apercebem-se que continuam "fisicamente fortes" e em boa forma desportiva) que promove um desempenho desportivo melhorado.</font></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o aos períodos de destreino e de treino reduzido, a investiga&ccedil;&atilde;o no contexto do basquetebol é escassa, embora a literatura evidencie a reten&ccedil;&atilde;o dos ganhos da for&ccedil;a a partir da prática regular da modalidade (Hoffman et al., 1991; Maffiuletti et al., 2000; Santos &amp; Janeira, 2009, 2010, 2011). De resto, a literatura disponível mostrou-se completamente omissa relativamente aos efeitos do destreino específico e do treino reduzido nos valores da for&ccedil;a explosiva de adolescentes basquetebolistas previamente submetidos a um programa de treino resistivo.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Método</b></font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Um grupo de basquetebolistas do sexo masculino previamente submetido a um programa de treino resistivo com a dura&ccedil;&atilde;o de 10 semanas (n=15; idade: 14.5&plusmn;0.6 anos; altura: 172.7&plusmn;8.1cm; peso: 61.6&plusmn;8.0 kg; experi&ecirc;ncia de treino de basquetebol: 5.0&plusmn;2.4 anos) foi posteriormente dividido aleatoriamente num grupo de treino reduzido (GTR=8) e num grupo de destreino específico (GDE=7). Ao longo de 16 semanas o GTR, paralelamente aos treinos de basquetebol, manteve uma sess&atilde;o semanal de treino resistivo, enquanto o GDE apenas manteve a prática regular da modalidade. Todos os sujeitos foram avaliados segundo o protocolo de Bosco (1994), no salto sem contramovimento (SsCM), salto com contramovimento (com-SCMb e sem balan&ccedil;o de bra&ccedil;os-SCM), e salto em profundidade (SP), no início (T1), e no final das semanas 4 (T4), 8 (T8), 12 (T12), e 16 (T16) dos períodos de treino reduzido e destreino específico. Todos os testes foram precedidos de um aquecimento geral que englobou corrida e exercícios de alongamento. Todos os sujeitos se familiarizaram previamente com o procedimento correto da execu&ccedil;&atilde;o dos testes.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">A descri&ccedil;&atilde;o da amostra foi realizada a partir dos valores da média e do desvio-padr&atilde;o. Recorremos à análise de vari&acirc;ncia (ANOVA de medidas repetidas e medidas independentes) para percebermos o comportamento dos indicadores ao longo do tempo, bem como a intera&ccedil;&atilde;o entre os diferentes programas de treino. Quando se observaram diferen&ccedil;as estatisticamente significativas nos valores das médias, recorreu-se a compara&ccedil;&otilde;es <i>post-hoc</i> através do teste de Bonferroni. O nível de signific&acirc;ncia foi mantido em 5%.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Resultados</b></font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Os resultados da compara&ccedil;&atilde;o dos valores médios dos indicadores de for&ccedil;a explosiva registados ao longo de 16 semanas para os grupos de treino reduzido e destreino específico, assim como a compara&ccedil;&atilde;o entre grupos nos diferentes momentos de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o, s&atilde;o apresentados na <a href="#t1">Tabela 1</a>.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p align="center"><a name="t1"><img src="/img/revistas/cpd/v12s1/art14_t1.jpg" width="630" height="236"></a></p>     ]]></body>
<body><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Uma análise detalhada destes resultados permite perceber altera&ccedil;&otilde;es pontuais no comportamento de algumas variáveis ao longo das 16 semanas de destreino específico e treino reduzido. Realce para um aumento significativo dos valores do salto sem contramovimento em T8 e T16, assim como do salto com contramovimento sem balan&ccedil;o dos bra&ccedil;os, em T8, relativamente ao grupo de treino reduzido. Em rela&ccedil;&atilde;o ao grupo de destreino específico, notaram-se em T8 altera&ccedil;&otilde;es estatisticamente significativas nos valores do salto em profundidade.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Em todos os outros momentos de avalia&ccedil;&atilde;o é notória a aus&ecirc;ncia de diferen&ccedil;as estatisticamente significativas entre grupos.</font></p>     <p>&nbsp;</p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2"><b>Discuss&atilde;o</b></font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Genericamente identificamos estabilidade na capacidade de salto vertical nos dois grupos em estudo. Por outro lado, a contrasta&ccedil;&atilde;o entre destreino específico e treino reduzido mostrou clara semelhan&ccedil;a de resultados.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Estes resultados est&atilde;o de acordo com os de Maffiuletti et al. (2000) e sustentam a ideia de manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da atitude muscular atribuída ao treino estandardizado de basquetebol. Por outro lado, parece estar presente, neste contexto, uma no&ccedil;&atilde;o de preserva&ccedil;&atilde;o dos efeitos do treino precedente atribuída à designada "memória muscular" que segundo Staron et al. (1991) possibilita a reten&ccedil;&atilde;o durante o período de destreino da ativa&ccedil;&atilde;o neuronal aumentada e/ou da hipertrofia muscular. Ou seja, quando previamente estimulados de forma específica, os músculos empregues num trabalho de for&ccedil;a "registar&atilde;o" na sua memória as adapta&ccedil;&otilde;es produzidas, que ser&atilde;o depois "reativadas" ao longo do plano de prepara&ccedil;&atilde;o desportiva. No caso concreto do nosso estudo, o programa de manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da for&ccedil;a e a prática regular do basquetebol promoveram certamente um apelo permanente a esta "memória muscular", com efeitos visíveis na estabilidade dos valores de for&ccedil;a explosiva.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Estes resultados evidenciam igualmente semelhan&ccedil;a com os resultados de Santos &amp; Janeira (2009, 2010, 2011), o que permite afirmar que um programa de treino reduzido por um lado, e a situa&ccedil;&atilde;o de destreino específico por outro, contribuem para a manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da capacidade de salto vertical de basquetebolistas adolescentes, evitando ao mesmo tempo, tal como sustentam H&auml;kkinen &amp; Komi (1985), uma diminui&ccedil;&atilde;o na ativa&ccedil;&atilde;o neuronal.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Hoffman et al. (1991), num estudo realizado com basquetebolistas, afirmam que na sequ&ecirc;ncia da aplica&ccedil;&atilde;o de programas de treino resistivo, os valores da for&ccedil;a mant&ecirc;m-se estáveis em períodos longos de destreino (20 semanas). Esta evid&ecirc;ncia é sustentada pelos autores, que argumentam ser a alta intensidade da prática de basquetebol um fator suficientemente poderoso para manter, ao longo de uma época desportiva, a maior parte dos níveis de for&ccedil;a obtidos na pré-época. De resto, é este mesmo argumento (alta intensidade) centrado na prática do jogo, que justifica em larga escala e transversalmente a todos os períodos de destreino e de treino reduzido, os resultados por nós identificados no presente estudo.</font></p>     <p><font face="Verdana" size="2">Face ao conjunto de resultados apresentados e discutidos, podemos concluir que o período de treino reduzido e a situa&ccedil;&atilde;o de destreino específico concorrem indistintamente para a manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da capacidade de salto vertical, e apontam inequivocamente para o poder único que o treino específico em basquetebol parece ter para a sustenta&ccedil;&atilde;o e manuten&ccedil;&atilde;o da performance motora.</font></p>     ]]></body>
