La presencia de testigos en el momento del evento y la realización RCP junto con la utilización del desfibrilador semi-automático (DESA) son dos de los factores que están más fuertemente asociados a la supervivencia de las víctimas. En los últimos años, la supervivencia a estos eventos se ha visto aumentada gracias, principalmente, a la formación de la población y la implantación de DESA en diferentes puntos de la comunidad. La población de estudio son las personas sin formación sanitaria que habiendo recibido una formación en RCP básica, han atendido una parada cardiorrespiratoria(PCR). El objetivo es conocer la experiencia de estos primeros intervinientes formados. Se realizaron entrevistas semi-estructuradas a 8 personas: El mayor miedo de la mayoría de los entrevistados era saber reconocer una PCR y quedarse bloqueados en el momento de la atención, sin embargo describían su actuación con palabras como &#8220;automático&#8221; o &#8220;mecánico&#8221;. La gran mayoría expresan la necesidad de conocer el estado de la víctima tras la PCR, con ello expresan &#8220;cerrar el ciclo&#8221;. Tras el análisis de las entrevistas se ha visto necesario insistir en la simplificación del reconocimiento de la parada. y añadir nuevas metodologías encaminadas a intervenir en situaciones de estrés. Los alumnos deben salir de la formación con la confianza de que son capaces de hacerlo.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract It´s a fact CPR training increases CPR ratio of bystanders. Cardiac arrest witnessed and use of automated external desfibrilation(AED) are the strongest two factors associated with survival of victims. In the last years, the number of cardiac arrest survivors is increasing due to CPR training and AED located over different points of the entourage. This research aims to describe the first experience on cardiac arrest interventions of our previously CPR trained participants. 8 semi-structured voice-recorded interviews were made. All the participants declared to worry about recognizing properly the cardiac arrest, and also they declared that they dealt with the fear of being blocked at that situation. However, they describing their actions with words like &#8220;self-acting&#8221; or &#8220;mechanical&#8221;. Most of them said that they needed to know about their patient`s state of health after the CPR intervention, so they could, on their own words &#8220;close the cycle&#8221;. After analyzing the interviews, our conclusion is that we need to simplify the cardiac arrest detection, adding stress control methods for the trainees in order to teach them how to deal calmly with this situations in real life. Students have to finish their training feeling calm and self-confident.]]></p></abstract>
