Las principales técnicas de rehabilitación vocal son la voz esofágica, la prótesis fonatoria y la electrolaringe. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar el impacto de estas técnicas en la autopercepción de la voz y de la comunicación en personas laringectomizadas.  Método: Se diseñó un estudio observacional, transversal y cuantitativo. Participaron 52 personas laringectomizadas, seleccionadas mediante muestreo en bola de nieve. Se utilizó un cuestionario online autoadministrado con las versiones validadas al español del Voice Handicap Index-10 (VHI-10) y del Self-Evaluation of Communication Experiences after Laryngectomy (SECEL). Se aplicaron pruebas no paramétricas (Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis y correlación de Spearman), con un nivel de significación de p &lt; 0,05.  Resultados: No se encontraron diferencias significativas en las puntuaciones del VHI-10 y SECEL en función del sexo, la edad o el tipo de técnica vocal utilizada. Sin embargo, los participantes que habían recibido tratamiento logopédico presentaron una percepción comunicativa significativamente más favorable en el SECEL (p = 0,023). Además, se halló una correlación positiva moderada entre las puntuaciones del VHI-10 y del SECEL (rho = 0,674; p &lt; 0,001).  Discusión: Los resultados subrayan el impacto positivo de la intervención logopédica en la percepción comunicativa del paciente, así como la complementariedad de los cuestionarios utilizados para evaluar las secuelas funcionales y psicosociales.  Conclusiones: La rehabilitación logopédica desempeña un papel clave tras la laringectomía total. Se recomienda una atención integral que contemple la voz, la comunicación y el bienestar emocional del paciente.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Summary:  Introduction and objective: Total laryngectomy results in the loss of laryngeal phonation and significantly affects patients&#8217; quality of life. The main vocal rehabilitation techniques include esophageal speech, tracheoesophageal prosthesis, and electrolarynx. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of these techniques on self-perceived voice and communication in laryngectomized individuals.  Method: A cross-sectional, observational, and quantitative study was conducted. Fifty-two laryngectomized individuals participated, selected through snowball sampling. An online self-administered questionnaire was used, including the validated Spanish versions of the Voice Handicap Index-10 (VHI-10) and the Self-Evaluation of Communication Experiences after Laryngectomy (SECEL). Non-parametric tests were applied (Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, and Spearman&#8217;s correlation), with a significance level set at p &lt; 0.05.  Results: No statistically significant differences were found in VHI-10 or SECEL scores based on sex, age, or type of vocal technique used. However, participants who had received speech therapy reported significantly better communication perception on the SECEL (p = 0.023). A moderate positive correlation was also found between VHI-10 and SECEL scores (rho = 0.674; p &lt; 0.001).  Discussion: The results highlight the positive impact of speech therapy on patients&#8217; communicative self-perception and support the complementary value of both questionnaires in assessing the functional and psychosocial consequences of total laryngectomy.  Conclusions: speech therapy plays a key role after total laryngectomy. An integrated approach is recommended, addressing voice, communication, and the emotional well-being of the patient.]]></p></abstract>
