Los escolares, más concretamente en secundaria, se encuentran en un momento crucial para la adquisición de diferentes hábitos que marcarán su estilo de vida y su evolución en la edad adulta. La cultura deportiva, valorar la relevancia del ejercicio físico y conocer cuáles son las ventajas de una vida saludable, son factores que debemos potenciar como docentes. Actualmente, la literatura científica evidencia la relevancia de la práctica de actividad física y su influencia en la mejora del rendimiento académico de los estudiantes.  Objetivos. Conocer qué tipo de intensidad y ejercicio físico mejora los procesos cognitivos. Revisar cuál es el motivo de la mejora del rendimiento académico.  Método. Se analizaron diversas bases de datos entre las que destacan Pubmed, Scielo, Dialnet y Google Académico, escogiendo un total de 72 artículos en la primera selección, utilizándose finalmente un total de 20.  Resultados y conclusiones. Se aprecia una relación directa lineal y positiva entre práctica de ejercicio físico en escolares y mejora del rendimiento académico. Para obtener una influencia positiva en el rendimiento académico, es necesario realizar actividad física un tiempo estimado entre 30-90 minutos diarios o de 2 a 5 horas semanales, con una intensidad moderada. Para finalizar se verifica que los escolares que realizan actividad física según las pautas comentadas anteriormente, se planifican mejor sus horas de estudio.]]></p></abstract>
<abstract abstract-type="short" xml:lang="en"><p><![CDATA[Abstract  Introduction. The students, specifically in High School, are at a crucial momento to acquire different habits that will influence their lifestyle and their evolution in adulthood. The sport culture, appreciating the relevance of physical exercise and knowing what the advantages of a healthy life are, are factors that we should foster as teachers. Currently, the scientific literatura demonstrates the relevance of the practice of physical activity and its influence on the improvement of the students&#8217; academic performance.  Objectives. Knowing what kind of intensity and physical exercise improves cognitive processes. Reviewing the reason why academic performance improves.  Method. Several databases were analyzed, among which Pubmed, Scielo, Dialnet and Google Académico stand out, choosing a total of 72 articles in the first selection, using a total of 20.  Results and conclusions. A direct and positive relation between the practice of physical exercise in schoolchildren and the improvement of academic performance. To obtain a positive influence on the academic performance, it is necessary to perform physical activity for an estimated time between 30-90 minutes per day or 2 to 5 hours per week, with a moderate intensity. Finally, it is verified that schoolchildren who perfom physical activity according to the guidlines mentioned above, are better at planning their study hours.]]></p></abstract>
