Introduction.
In Chilean dentistry, the transition to competency-oriented educational models focused on various learning styles with active-participatory and telematic methodologies has generated doubts about their relevance to the professional field.
Materials and methods.
A study was carried out with a qualitative research-action type approach, in the Operative Dentistry area, in the Dental School at the University of Valparaíso - Chile; through the incorporation of active-participatory methodology aimed at various learning profiles with telematic, digital and simulated reality teaching tools.
Results.
A direct observational guideline and qualified evaluation established that all students achieved the expected competencies.
Discussion.
The evaluations determined the usefulness of the three-dimensional resources, allowing a significant integration of the expected knowledge.
Conclusions.
The general and specific objectives were achieved through multidimensional didactic strategies with the support of information and communications technologies, with a high level of satisfaction, motivation, achievement of skills and evaluated results, in a pandemic environment.
