Writer, professor, and feminist activist Kate Millett published The Loony-Bin Trip in 1990. In this autobiographical account, the author describes her experience as a survivor of psychiatry, after two internments. This article analyzes the contents of The Loony-Bin Trip, highlighting its importance for a reflection on madhouse criticism, the experience of psychic suffering, and mad activism.
